Description
Brand New Utah G15R 15″ Aftermarket Recone Kit 8 ohm. Parts specifications:
- Cone: 15″ outside diameter, 3.920″ deep, 2.0″ voice coil opening, smooth body
- Voice Coil: Kapton with 2.025″ inside diameter, 1.5″ form length, .531″ windings width, 8 ohm
- Cup Spider: with 3″ VC opening, 8″ outside diameter
- Dustcap: reuse
- Gasket: reuse
- Pigtails, shims and instructions are included.
You will also need glue and epoxy which are sold separately.

Had this recone kit professionally installed summer 2018 by the reknowned Innovative Audio of Surrey BC, Canada.
Over the past four years it’s holding up exceptionally well in an open-backed 13w 6v6 tube amp, specifically used for recording bass guitar. The speaker eats anything thrown at it too; be it a microphone, electric drum kit, organ, hot output guitar, etc.
With the original cone and without realizing how much it affects the sound of a speaker, I didn’t fancy this unit whatsoever. It buzzed… sounded loose, mucky & terrible overall and because of this, I began to scoff at Utah branded speakers.
Needless to say now, this late 1950’s G15R is amogst the best 15″ 50W woofers I’ve heard. It’s up there with Altec and Jensen at a fraction of the price.
Thank-you for making this kit available TSE, you helped keep this basket out of the scrap yard!
