Special Recone Instructions:
Two spiders come with this recone kit. You must reuse the original plastic ring and mount one spider on top and one spider on bottom. Remove the eyelets where the tinsel leads solder to the terminals on the inside of the terminals on the plastic ring and transfer them to the outside of the plastic ring. You must disassemble and reassemble the terminals to transfer the eyelets.
After that is done the easiest way to complete this repair is to set the voice coil in the gap and then glue the bottom spider in place. Make sure not to forget to epoxy the bottom spider to the voice coil. The voice coil was originally wired in between the spiders. We find it is easier to solder the voice coil leads to the tinsel leads and cut 2 holes on each side of the top spider. Then bring the tinsel leads up through those holes in the spider and glue the top spider in place. Add some glue to the points where the tinsel leads come through the top spider. The leads will come up through the cone’s voice coil opening. Glue the cone and gaskets in place. Epoxy the cone and top spider to the voice coil. Make holes in the cone on both sides adjacent to where the terminals are and run the tinsel leads through those holes. Solder the tinsel leads to the eyelets on the terminals. Glue down the tinsel leads to cone and test the speaker when the glue has cured. Then glue on the dust cap.
