JBL LE85 original diaphragm was D16R2420. This diaphragm is no longer available.
Commonly used replacements are D16R2421,D8R2425, D8R2421 or D16R2470. The nominal impedance of the 16 ohm diaphragms are low enough to match the original LE85 even though that driver was marked 8 ohms. See the attached notice from JBL.
Which should you use? If you have a three way system with a tweeter, then you should use the D16R2470. The phenloic diaprhagm will reproduce more mid range frequencies. If you have a two way system, then use the D16R2421. This aluminum diaphragm will give a nicer sound. You could also use the D16R2425. This titanium diaphragm will handle more power.
